My Name is Bruce: The first time I saw Bruce Campbell, was in Evil Dead. I thought to myself, Wow, this is really, really… awful. It was years later that I then came across Army of Darkness, and thought to myself, They made sequels to THAT thing?! Yet, I couldn’t stop watching… and laughing. Then came shows like Xena, and Jack of All Trades. These were… Well, at the time, I was embarrassed to admit that I watched them. Yet, I couldn’t stop. Those in turn, were followed by a slew of cheesy sci-fi and horror films that had a tendency to keep me pointing and laughing at the screen. Eventually, it became that I could no longer turn the channel from anything with Bruce Campbell in it, not even a commercial. What was it about them? Was it the cheesy one-liners? The bad special effects? It was definitely something more than that, as I don’t think there’s another actor out there who could pull it off. There’s a term for it among my circles of friends, simply stated as: Bruce-tastic!

I know that a lot of people would be arguing with me, insisting that the Evil Dead trilogy would be the “what to watch” for the season, but I’m just one of those people who need to move on. Just as I can only hear certain songs so many times before I’m jamming my fingers in my ears and shouting, “La-la-la-la-laaa!” so is it that I can only watch any given film so many times. My Bruce-tastic pick for this year is My Name is Bruce. Deal with it.

Fine… 48 seconds. That is all.
